Proximal LLC is a national provider of Revenue Cycle and Medical Collection Agency services. Their services have increased the profitability, office productivity, and efficiency of doctors’ offices.
They offer services that cover the entire healthcare revenue cycle and results that outperform national benchmarks. Proximal is committed to providing best-in-class revenue cycle and collection agency services to hospitals and physicians across the country.
The company started as a billing department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Associates of Baltimore (PCCAB) in 1996. In 2012, Proximal, LLC was added as a whole owned subsidiary of PCCAB. After this time Proximal, LLC began taking on numerous medical practices across a variety of disciplines. Being physician-owned, they are unique to the industry because they treat all patients – whether medical billing or third party collections – with a high level of dignity and respect.
Amy Thomas began her career at Proximal LLC as the Leader of the Collections division. Her current title is Operations Manager. In this role, she oversees the collections department, client contracting, and business development.

THEIR PDCflow STORY
Proximal LLC set up credit card payment processing services with PDCflow in 2015 through PDCflow integration partner Simplicity Collection Software.
Simplicity Collection Software integrates with PDCflow to provide their clients secure credit card processing, ACH payment processing and electronic signature services. PDCflow’s patented secure entry overlay provides software partners the ability to take PCI compliant payments within their customer-facing interface, automating their workflow.

COMPANY GROWTH
Proximal continues to expand monthly, taking on new clients in both billing services and third party collections. Proximal is very involved in the Maryland MGMA (Medical Group Management Association). Currently, they have two employees from Proximal on the board, including Amy Thomas. This is a great resource for smaller private practices on which Proximal focuses.
Proximal is also involved in National MGMA. Other organizations include ACA (Association of Credit and Collection Professionals), MACA (Mid-Atlantic Collectors Association), HFMA (Healthcare Financial Management Association), MD AAHAM (American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management), and MedChi (Maryland State Medical Society).
